Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology uses a Co2 laser to sinter layers of powdered materials (thermal plastic, wax and coated sand) direct from your 3D CAD data. A thin layer of powdered material is spread across the build chamber via a roller system. The laser then traces a two-dimensional cross section of the part sintering the material together. This process continues, layer-by-layer, until the 3D part is built. During the SLS process, the part is suspended in the powder so no supports are needed.
